Practice Areas, Experience and Languages

  • Rachel is an Associate in the Intellectual Property (IP) practice, focusing on contentious and non-contentious IP matters across Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, and international markets. Her practice encompasses trade mark portfolio strategy, clearance, global filing coordination, and standard patent prosecution.

She routinely handles contentious trade mark proceedings, including oppositions, non-use cancellations, invalidations, and co-existence negotiations, as well as pre-action enforcement and infringement disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, she spent over three and a half years as a Hearing Officer at the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department. In this role, she presided over trade mark registrability and interlocutory hearings, issued costs orders, and advised the Trade Marks Registry on registrability and post-registration matters. Her insight into the Registrar of Trade Marks’ decision-making process enables her to deliver strategic, commercially grounded advice on trade mark registrability issues and contentious proceedings.

Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English.
